Peer Review Policy
Jurnal Biolokus: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Biologi dan Biologi is committed to ensuring a fair, objective, transparent, and timely peer-review process to maintain the quality and integrity of published articles.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to assess their relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, compliance with the Author Guidelines, and suitability for peer review. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are evaluated through a double-blind review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.
Research articles are reviewed by at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewers are selected by the editor based on their academic qualifications, subject knowledge, and ability to provide an impartial assessment. Additional reviewers may be appointed when further evaluation is necessary.
Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on their relevance, originality, methodological soundness, significance, clarity, quality of analysis and interpretation, and presentation. They provide constructive comments and recommendations to assist the editor in making an informed editorial decision.
The editor is responsible for the final decision on manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection, taking into consideration the reviewers’ recommendations, the manuscript’s scientific quality, and the journal’s policies. Reviewers’ recommendations do not automatically determine the final editorial decision. A request for revision does not guarantee acceptance, and rejected manuscripts are not automatically reconsidered.
All participants in the peer-review process must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, act objectively and professionally, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Reviewers must not use unpublished information from manuscripts for personal or professional advantage. Any concerns regarding research integrity or potential ethical misconduct must be reported to the editor. These responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with the journal’s Publication Ethics and applicable policies, including its AI Policy.
