Author Guidelines

Carefully read the submission guidelines as follows:

A. General Requirements

The minimum standard requirements of Jurnal Biolokus: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Biologi dan Biologi must be

  1. Written in Bahasa Indonesia or English and have never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain elements of plagiarism.

  2. Make sure that your paper is prepared using the Jurnal Biolokus: Jurnal Penelitian Pendidikan Biologi dan Biologi template

B. Structure of The Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared and suggested present follow the structure:

  1. Title. The title should be short, clear, and informative, but does not exceed 20 words. It has to be pinpoint with the issues discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviations.

  2. Author’s names and affiliations. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's affiliations, and corresponding email, without any academic titles and job title.

  3. Abstract, which comprised of approximately 250 words, provides a brief description of research problems, aims, method used, results, and conclusion. An abstract should stand alone, means that no citation in the abstract.
    Keywords. Written alphabetically 3-5 words or groups of words. Keywords are the labels of the article and critical to correct indexing and searching.

  4. Introduction. The introduction comprises of: (1) research problem; (2) insight and problem solve planning; (3) summary of theoretical studies and the results of the present study (state of the art), related to the observed problems (gap analysis), and (4) research aims. 

  5. Method. The method contains an explanation of the research design, population and samples, the use of materials and instruments, data collection, and analysis techniques. Method should make readers be able to reproduce the experiment. Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced.

  6. Results and Discussion. This section is the main part of the research result article in which the “fix” results are served. Research results must be clearly concluded in answering the research questions. Interpreting the findings should be done by using logics and present theories. The findings in form of facts found in the research fields are integrated to previous researches or present theories. This must be supported by reliable references. In case the researchers bring a new theories, the old theories can be confirmed or rejected, or modify the old theories.

    In discussion, make the discussion corresponding to the results, but do not reiterate the results. The following components should be covered in discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section (what/how)? Do you provide interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)? Or are there any differences?

  7. Conclusion. The conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and research discoveries. The concluding remark should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway.

  8. Acknowledgement. This section can be written in case there are certain parties need to be acknowledged, such as research sponsors/funding supporter.

  9. ReferencesCitation and referencing must be written based on APA style 7th edition which is organized by using Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote for reference management and formatting. Expect a minimum of 15 references primarily.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
